What is sea glass?

Sea Glass is glass found on beaches along oceans that has been tumbled and smoothed by the water and sand, creating small pieces of smooth, frosted glass. We find our sea glass while walking the beaches of Buzzard's Bay in Massachusetts. There are a lot of boats and a rocky shore which makes a good recipe for sea glass. Our family has been collecting sea glass for over fourteen years and we have literally tens of thousands of specimens. This site is a photographic catalog of our sea glass collection, our weathered jewels. Kick back and peek around at the photos of sea glass.

Great post. We do the same at the beach we go to in the Outer Banks.

Hi!
Where do you go sea glass hunting in Buzzards Bay? I'd like to take the kids....we all enjoy collecting sea glass together.
Thank you!
